TPL Linea, the public transport operator for Savona, reported a 13% fare evasion rate during the summer period from June 24 to August 25, 2024, compared to a lower rate recorded in 2023. Over 44,000 passengers were inspected across 3,504 trips, leading to 5,724 fines, an increase from 4,294 in 2023. The inspections were part of the company’s “Socrate” program, aimed at protecting revenue collection and ensuring stricter adherence to ticketing regulations. A total of 155 inspection teams were deployed, logging over 3,300 hours in enforcement activities.
In tandem with these enforcement efforts, TPL Linea expanded its services, including an upgraded ticketing office in Savona and a new info point in Albenga, ahead of the new school year. These initiatives aim to improve customer experience, especially for young passengers and those needing to activate subscriptions. TPL Linea’s leadership, including President Vincenzo Franceri, highlighted ongoing improvements in service quality, particularly addressing issues like air conditioning failures that were prevalent last summer.
TPL Linea also noticed a decrease in vandalism incidents over the summer, a trend attributed to the increased presence of TPL staff who helped maintain order across the network. Director Giampaolo Rossi reaffirmed TPL Linea’s commitment to delivering comfortable, reliable services, with further improvements planned to meet evolving customer needs and uphold high operational standards.
